This is the most creative Halloween costume I've seen in a long time!

Captain America even made an appearance!

Karen wanted an eggless, milkless chocolate cake and here it is...

Beginnings and Ends

Maybe it's the change of seasons (not so much here because it's still 75 degrees out)
but I felt like crocheting today...and I had orange and pink in my head.  So, off my hook came the BEGINNINGS of this scarf.....

and this is the END of a baby blanket that started in Pennsylvania, made the 22 hour car ride here to our new home and will now be completed in Georgia.  One more row of stitches and it's done!

The BEGINNING for our pumpkins...just setting around decorating our porch with their pretty orange color..ushering in fall...a sign of the seasons....

The END for our pumpkins...carved into silly faces by sillier children!

Happy Halloween!!

Bags, bags and more bags!

I had these canvas bags from Jacob's favorite store (the big W) in my
fabric cabinet for a while and though they would make great little
Halloween trick or treat bags.
I used my big old foam letter stamps and some
Staz-on ink to stamp the message,
then found some ric-ric and leftover ribbons to embellish them.
Nothing super special...but each kiddo gets there own!

A little felt and a little embroidery floss and you have a
little pumpkin!

I love buttons...they add so much!!

I cut out this bat and when I unfolded it it looked more like a heart with wings!
Cute anyway so I added it too!

Emma has a birthday party this coming weekend for a little friend of hers
and I thought I'd whip up a little bag to put the gift in instead of traditional wrap.
I got the idea from Soulemama (love her!)
And the plus of it is...she can keep the bag and use it to store goodies, etc,

happy day!

Halloween Party Favors

Now, this might have been my craftiest morning ever!  Ha!  I somehow found the time to make 40 chocolate dipped and sprinkled pretzel rods (packaged and decorated with tags) and 40 Halloween treat sacks for the kids school parties this week!  I also got all my supplies together to make the kids their trick or treat bags...but that's another post!

So here's what was going on in and around my kitchen all morning!!

These are just simple white treat sacks that I filled with spider rings, ghost pops, stickers, and cute halloween erasers for Emma's kindergarten class.  I "pinched on" a sweet vintage Halloween tag using a decorated clothespin...

The vintage Halloween cards are from Stampington and Company...(did I mention I love them soooooo much???)

My cute little Halloween clip to keep all the insides together....I hope the kids enjoy their treats!

Recycled Tags

These are my nod to recycled art....I bought this pack of mini puzzles to put
in the treat bags and they had a cardboard backing....well, I thought these would make great little tags!
So, out c ame our spooky skeleton and a halloween stamped greeting and voila!
I used these tags on Jacob's treat to re-use items!

Jacob's treat bags....filled with puzzles, candy sticks, stickers, and dum-dum pops!

I added a long pretzel in the side, then folded over the edge and stapled our cute little tag to close it all up!
The bags are also from Stampinton and Company.  I added a stamped swirl on the top and bottom of each.

Chocolate tipped pretzels...yummy!
Found the circular halloween stickers at Walmart....way cheap!
I punched out a scalloped circle and added the sticker in the center.

These were leftover treat bags fron last year.  I split the pretzel and dipped both ends to
make them fit in the bag (necessity is the mother....)
I made a topper out of some of my polka dotted paper that I sooooo love!

doesn't she look sneaky???
She is.  Very.

Halloween Decor and some silly kids...

Let's start with some Salsa...ummm!

I diced up:
a bunch of plum tomatoes
one jalepeno
a handful of cilantro
one garlic clove
1/2 a Vidalia onion
one red pepper

then I added some black beans and corn
a tsp of lime juice
and it's all been marinating in the fridge
to really meld the flavors...I'll let you know how it turns out...
smells delicicious!!

Emma did Ms. Madi's hair this morning...all about the bows!!

Miss Emma lost her front tooth.  I think she swallowed it because we can't seem to find it????
She makes a perfect Jack-o-lantern now....and the other one is loose too!!

aren't these cute?  I'm going to put my hand sanitizer in them because I hate the generic bottles
it comes in.  They aren't vintage or anything..just look like it!

Halloween outside our house

Now, I've decorated before for halloween, but yesterday I wanted to make more little vignette's.
I re arranged things and this stands at our back door...
our cute little pumpkin man, some mini mums, pumpkins and gourds, and a spider lantern.

Miss Emma and her toothy grin!

Mr. Jacob with "what face is that?"

The sign defines us SO well!

Jacob loves lights.  Any lights...strung up lights, you name it.
I promised him I'd light up the deck yesterday...
so a few strands of Christmas lights gave our deck
a little magical glow.
(i kind of love it too!)

More Goodwill Finds

cute crock, tall glass jar and a sweet little Halloween plate!

Inside the house....

My repainted Goodwill drysink features my dollar store candlesticks painted black with beeswax candles..
painted muslin candy corn....and some pine cones from the yard..

I love my "Halloween" sign.  I got it at the Christmas Tree Shoppe last year.
Sigh....there's none here in Statesboro! A few little pumpkins and witches, then my good old
pumpkin candy buckets stacked up top.  The orange flowers have big eyes glued in their centers!

Our Halloween Mantle...

I love my new witch shoes!  The pumpkin was made by
my oldest son's grandmother one year when he was little...

I love these little wood pumpkins...I've had them for a long time!

Boo banner I made last year and love my window clings!!

Hope you had a happy, yummy weekend too!
