Welcome to the Fair!

Last night we visited the opening night of the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair here in Statesboro....the kids had a blast, I ate ate my first fried snickers bar and we all went on the ferris wheel!  After I got home, I realized I had signed up to work (sorry everyone!).  We had a great time, saw some friends and lots of "interesting" folks, lol!

hey baby, wanna ride?

my favorite part of the Fair was the chickens of course!

heart(s)

Last Sunday my husband and I headed down the hall from our own Sunday School class to pick up the kids at their classrooms. He headed down the hall, but Sam's Sunday School teacher laughingly pulled me into the room.  She was covering her face, giggling and said "OMG, Sam is so cute.".  I apologized and said "What did he do now?".  Lol, always Sam.

Seems Sammy was sitting next to her at Children's Church and was enamored by her "heart".  His exact words were "I lush (love, in Samanese) u heart." All the while RUBBING her boob.  Then he says, as he moves his hand over and discovers her other boob..."Oh u has two hearts.  I lush them.  They so soft.".

My response?  "Well, he was breastfed."

Reason 4, 356,783 why we are going to get kicked out of church.

Way to cop a feel, Sam.

7

I've had a plain white boring 7 on my shelf for a few months and I finally go the inspiration to do something with it :)  A 7, you say, well what's that for?  Well, it's the number of people in my immediate family...our signature I suppose.  I received these wood veneer people in the mail with my MW Express Kit and the lightbulb went on!

Green:  because I love the color!

Would make a cute Christmas gift!

Scrap fabric

Got fabric scraps left over?  I used mine to make this shabby chic lampshade for the girls room!
{inspiration:  Pinterest of course!}
I repainted the base of the lamp (it was black) to tie in with all the beautiful colors.

So sweet!

monogram canvas decor

Hi all!  Just popping in to share a little home dec project I did for the girls room!  The girls needed something above their beds and I wanted to do something with their initials.  I purchased some cheap (walmart) canvas boards, added some scrapbook paper, paper doilies, binding tape, ribbon and buttons.  I modge podge everything to the boards and hot glued the buttons on.

Emma's :)

Emmy's is pink and turquoise...do u love the chevron paper???
Her canvas is a little more girly.
The little angels came from my friend April.

Madi's board is a little more earthy...it fits her personality :)

Two little girls with such different little attitudes, likes, dislikes....
I really love that they each have a little guardian angel watching them as they sleep.

Happy day to you all!

Trash-y to treasure!

Ok, so I was at Goodwill (again) and happened upon this {OMG how gaudy is this piece????} little mirrored tray.  Undeterred by the sheer hideousness of it, I set to work.

Two coats of satin white spray paint this afternoon and a little bit of antiquing glaze did wonders.  I washed the mirror well and dried it all up.  I thought it still needed something so I added a little metallic chalk to it.

And here she is, ready for some pretty perfume bottles or little girlie trinkets :)

****************************

And these my friends, are all over Pinterest.
I love them almost as much as I love turquoise paint right now so I decided to
combine the two!

They will each get a little candle inside and grace my Labor Day table :)

happy day to you all!

The Princess and the Perfume Bottle

Today, Madi came into the craft room and she smelled like CK1.

Me:  Madison, were you messing with Mommy's perfume?
Madi:  Yes.
Me:  Where is it?
Madi:  It's not dere.

Ummmm.  Not dere?  Where is not dere?  Well it wasn't on the bathroom counter where it always is.
I have been cleaning all day, washing all the bed linens.

Me:  Madi, where is my perfume?
Madison:  I want goldfish.
Me:  No goldfish, until I get my perfume back.  Where is it?
(insert sound of little feet running into my bedroom)

Madison:  In dere.

This here...is apparently "dere".

Ok well, let's see.

It was.  In dere.

I AM A BIG FAT STINKER.

Me:  Madi?  Stay out of my bedroom.
Madison:  No.
